BOOK  COLLECTORS  CABINET

 

Derived from a Chinese scroll cabinet the design comprises eleven separate boxes, with removeable doors, on a plinth capped by a lid. The format of the cabinet may be changed by re-stacking the boxes in various ways.

Awarded Guild Mark No.156 and the Claxton- Stevens prize in 1994 for the most exceptional piece nationally by The Furniture Makers Company, London.

 

Made from one tree of English Yew wood with hand painted historical printers marks.

​

Made by Ian Heseltine, designed by Alan Tilbury FRCA.

​

Exterior finished in natural oil.

Interior unfinished to conserve the books
